What is Vitamin E?
Vitamin E, also known as tocopheryl, is a fat-soluble vitamin that acts as an antioxidant in the body. It was first discovered in 1922 by Herbert McLean Evans and Katherine Scott Bishop while conducting experiments with rats on a diet lacking in certain nutrients. They noticed that the rats developed reproductive problems and miscarriages, which were later reversed when their diet was supplemented with a new factor - vitamin E.
Vitamin E Benefits:
Vitamin E is full of powerful antioxidant properties. Antioxidants protect our cells from damage caused by free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can lead to chronic diseases and signs of aging. Taking Vitamin E supplements has been shown to increase the levels of antioxidants in the body, providing protection against oxidative stress.
