What is Mannitol?
Mannitol is a sugar alcohol used as a low-calorie sweetener and bulking agent with a clean, cooling taste. It has a low glycemic impact, resists moisture pickup, and stays stable under heat, which makes it great for sugar-free candies, chewing gum, baked goods, and drink mixes. In supplements and pharma it’s a common excipient for tablets and chewables, helping with mouthfeel and compression. Typically a white, crystalline powder, about half to two-thirds as sweet as sugar.
